Chicago, IL—Nextpoint, the industry leader in Litigation Process Automation, announced the release of customer-specific native file processing capabilities. After several months in Beta-testing, the latest release of the Nextpoint platform reduces time prior to review by dedicating processing power on a per-customer basis, and eliminating any queuing of jobs.
“With traditional processing vendors, customers pay either in time or money for unused processing capacity. Customers are typically forced to wait for their jobs or pay premium charges to have their data processed quickly. Our enterprise customers now have a faster, less expensive platform to process and host their ESI,” said Ben Wolf, Vice President of R&D at Nextpoint.
Nextpoint processes native file types including Outlook, Lotus Notes, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe PDF files and automatically produces viewable images to speed time prior to and during review, while preserving a link to the underlying native file. By integrating significant tools that lawyers need in post-production, Nextpoint reduces the total cost of ownership and supports every phase of litigation, including trial.

UNIONDALE, NY — ExxonMobil was awarded an important victory when Judge Kenneth Davis of the New York Supreme Court, Nassau County, ruled in its favor in a lawsuit brought by the Plainview Water District (“PWD”). PWD claimed that Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether (”MTBE”), an additive that adds more oxygen to gasoline so it burns more completely and reduces tailpipe emissions, was an imminent threat to the local water supply. Judge Davis ruled that MTBE was not a threat, nor could it contaminate the water supply.
After waiting almost six months for the ruling, managing partner Peter Sacripanti of McDermott, Will & Emery’s New York office was pleased with the verdict and the role played by Nextpoint during the trial. “Nextpoint’s ability to prepare large quantities of trial materials while simultaneously preparing visuals was truly impressive.”
Rakesh Madhava, CEO of Nextpoint, was also excited with the win and said, “This case is another example of our commitment to providing services that maximize performance in all phases of high-stakes litigation. Our customers win, more often than not, because they put together great trial teams. We’re incredibly proud of this effort and thank McDermott Will & Emery and ExxonMobil for the opportunity to support their efforts in this matter.”
